Place the equipment

Before ordering service, make sure that the server meets Selectel's equipment placement requirements:

• Terms of use for individual services: Equipment placement;
• Specifications. Placement of equipment with one power supply unit in a server rack;
• Specifications. Placement of equipment with two power supplies in a server rack.

If special conditions are required to accommodate your equipment, please create a ticket. A Selectel employee will clarify the details and verify the technical feasibility of the accommodation.

1. Order the placement of equipment.
2. Prepare documents and requisites.
3. Prepare equipment for placement.
4. Deliver the equipment to the data center.

1. Order equipment placement

1. In the control panel, from the top menu, click Products and select Equipment Placement.

2. Select a project.

3. Click Place Hardware.

4. Select a region and a pool segment.

5. Enter the serial number of the equipment — it will be indicated on the equipment acceptance certificate.

6. Select the format of the equipment layout.

7. Click Go to Checkout.

8. Select a payment period.

9. Check the final cost of equipment placement.

10. Confirm that you agree to the payment terms.

11. Click Pay.

12. Familiarize yourself with the ordering information.

13. Click Pay.

14. After payment a ticket with information about preparation and placement of equipment in the data center and network settings will be generated.From the moment of equipment installation in the rack and connection to the network the paid period starts.For traffic accounting by default traffic consumption model with fixed speed is applied (channel 100 Mbit/s and unlimited traffic).You can change the traffic consumption model after equipment installation.

2. Prepare documents and requisites

Two documents need to be signed to accommodate the equipment:

• "Terms of Service" for your account type if you are placing equipment for the first time.If you have previously signed the "Terms of Service" when placing equipment, you do not need to do so again;
• "Equipment Acceptance Certificate".

You can sign the documents in any way you like:

• in person at the data center during the transfer of equipment.The engineering department staff will prepare the documents for your arrival at the data center;
• through the electronic document management (EDI) system for business accounts.Make sure that all company details are filled in  the control panel.You can change the company details if necessary;
• To do this, print out the documents, sign them in duplicate and hand them over with the equipment.

The documents and details you need to prepare for equipment transfer depend on the type of account:

Personal account

• passport of the person who is responsible for transferring the equipment to the data center and signing the documents;

• If the equipment is transferred by a trusted person, a notarized power of attorney and a copy of the customer's passport are required;

• Terms and conditions of communication services;

• Equipment Acceptance Certificate.If you sign the act in advance, specify:

  • user agreement number — this is your account number, can be viewed in the top right corner of your dashboard;
  • The date of the user agreement is the date of account registration.To find out the registration date, create a ticket.

Business account

Legal entity

• passport of the person who is responsible for transferring the equipment to the data center and signing the documents;

• if the equipment is transferred by an authorized person, a notarized power of attorney on behalf of the general director is required;

• seal of the organization, if the documents are signed on paper;

• Terms and conditions of communication services;

• Equipment Acceptance Certificate.If you sign the act in advance, specify:

  • user agreement number — this is your account number, can be viewed in the top right corner of your dashboard;
  • user agreement date — this is the date of account registration. To find out the registration date, create a ticket.

Individual entrepreneur

• passport of the person who is responsible for transferring the equipment to the data center and signing the documents;

• If the equipment is transferred by a trusted person, a notarized power of attorney from an individual entrepreneur is required;

• Terms and conditions of communication services;

• Equipment Acceptance Certificate.If you sign the act in advance, specify:

  • user agreement number — this is your account number, can be viewed in the top right corner of your dashboard;
  • user agreement date — this is the date of account registration. To find out the registration date, create a ticket.

3. Prepare equipment for placement

1. Configure the network interface on the server.The parameters for configuration can be viewed in the ticket that was created in step 14 after the ordering the equipment placement in step 1.

2. Enclose the server with a 19" cabinet mounting sled, power cords, and fasteners.We accept only Rackmount format equipment for placement.

4. Deliver the equipment to the data center

There are three ways to get a server to the data center:

• on your own;
• in a cab;
• by courier.

Receiving and installing equipment can take up to one day.

Independently

1. Coordinate the time of equipment delivery by creating a ticket.Our data centers work around the clock.

2. Bring with you the documents you prepared in step 2.

3. Deliver the equipment to the data center and hand it over to the engineering staff for installation work.

4. If you signed physical documents, wait to receive your copies after signing on our end.

5. Wait for a Selectel employee to respond in the ticket that the server has been placed in the data center.

By cab

1. Coordinate the time of equipment delivery by creating a ticket.Our data centers work around the clock.

   If this is the first time you place your equipment in Selectel, you can take advantage of free cab delivery service.Delivery is carried out during working hours within the Moscow Ring Road in Moscow or within the KAD in St. Petersburg.The cab will pick you and your equipment up and after transferring the server to the data center, the cab will take you to your office or home.

2. Bring with you the documents you prepared in step 2.

3. Hand over the equipment to the engineering department personnel for installation work.

4. If you signed physical documents, wait to receive your copies after signing on our end.

5. Wait for a Selectel employee to respond in the ticket that the server has been placed in the data center.

Courier service

You pay for the courier service yourself.

1. Coordinate the time of equipment delivery by creating a ticket.Our data centers work around the clock.

2. If you signed the documents in Step 2 on a physical medium, transfer them in one of the following ways:

   • send by registered mail.The addresses for receiving correspondence are listed in the Data Center Addresses subsection of the State Address System (FIAS);
   • put in the box with the server when it is shipped.

3. Arrange for delivery of the equipment to the data center by courier service.

4. If you have handed in the documents with the equipment or by registered mail, make sure the address in the control panel is correct.We will sign the documents and send your copies by registered mail.

5. Wait for a Selectel employee to respond in the ticket that the server has been placed in the data center.
