CDN payment and pricing model

Last update:

Balance

For CDN payments, depending on the type of balance in the account, a single balance or the balance of the storage and CDN is used.

You can pay for CDN with different types of funds: basic funds, bonuses.

Before you start using the CDN , top up your balance with at least 500 ₽.

Payment Model

CDN is paid monthly according to the tariff plan.The tariff plan determines the payment amount and traffic package for all CDN resources in the account. Additional traffic, which is consumed in excess of the tariff plan, is charged and paid separately.

When you create your first CDN resource and it  becomes ACTIVE, the plan traffic package becomes available for the account.The first plan payment is charged on the first day of the next calendar month.The next plan payments are charged automatically on the first day of each month.Charging occurs if the account has resources in ACTIVE status.

To stop being charged, disable all CDN resources in your account.

Rate plan

The tariff plan includes a package of traffic that is spent on all CDN resources in the account.The package includes:

  • 100 GB of source traffic is from the source to the caching servers;
  • 800 GB of external traffic — from caching CDN servers to users.

Additional traffic

Additional traffic — traffic consumed in excess of the tariff plan.Additional traffic is charged per GB and is paid separately according to the pay-as-you-go model.Funds for additional traffic are debited every hour.Debits are delayed by a day due to the peculiarities of collecting consumption data from caching servers.

Blocking CDN if there are insufficient funds on the balance

If there are insufficient funds on the balance of the service at the moment of debiting, creation of new CDN-resources will be blocked. At the same time, existing CDN-resources will continue to work, and the consumed traffic will be charged as debt. 14 days from the moment of insufficient funds resources will be deactivated with full cache clearing.

If you do not top up your balance by the amount owed within 30 days of the shortage, all CDN resources will be deleted without the possibility of recovery.Until the disabled resources have been deleted, you can pay the debt and resume their work.

Debt is not burned off after resources are deleted.

note

For example, you have used up a package of traffic according to the tariff, and on June 18 the funds on your balance were not enough to pay for the traffic in excess of the package. The creation of new CDN-resources was immediately blocked. Existing resources continued to work, the consumed traffic began to be charged as a debt.On July 1, the tariff payment was added to the debt.

On July 3, 14 days after the debt was incurred, the resources were deactivated with cache clearing.Let's assume that the debt amounted to 710 ₽ — for a traffic package and traffic in excess of the package.Within three days, the system received accurate data on consumption, and the amount increased to 715 rubles.If payment is not received by July 19, 30 days after the debt was incurred, the resources will be deleted without the possibility of recovery.

Resume CDN operation

  1. Refill the balance from which to pay for the service The amount of the debt will be deducted from the balance immediately after refilling.
  2. Wait for the service to be activated, it can take up to 20 minutes.
  3. Enable CDN resource.

View Consumption

You can view consumption in the control panel: in the top menu click ProductsCDNConsumption.Consumption calculation can be delayed up to three days due to the peculiarities of data collection from cache servers, so the amounts in the statistics are approximate.You can view the exact amounts in the reporting documents.

The data is presented in the form of consumption and payment schedules.You can sort consumption by time period.

To upload consumption and payment details in .csv format, click Download CSV and select how the rows will be grouped in the upload (by hours, days, weeks, months, years).

All resource outages and blockages due to insufficient balance are displayed on consumption and payment schedules.

Prices

The price of a CDN adds up:

  • from the cost of the tariff plan — the price of the package is fixed and does not depend on the number of resources;
  • The price per 1 GB is set for each consumption range (up to 10 TB, from 10 to 30 TB, etc.). When consumption reaches the next threshold, the price per 1 GB decreases.

You can view prices and calculate the approximate cost of using CDN at selectel.ru.

Reporting documents

Reporting documents are available after payment.
