Delete DNS record

You can delete a DNS record or remove an individual value from a record.

If the network is connected to a DNS zone and you delete an A or AAAA record added automatically, the record will be added again when the IP address or domain name of a port on the network changes. Automatically added records are marked with the Auto tag.

You can see if the network is connected to the zone in the control panel: in the top menu, click ProductsCloud ServersPrivate DNSDNS Resolvers tab → in the network row, the DNS zone field.

Delete record

  1. In the Dashboard, on the top menu, click Products and select Cloud Servers.
  2. Go to the Private DNS section.
  3. Open the zone page.
  4. In the Records block, mark the records you want to delete.
  5. Above the Records block, click .
  6. To confirm the deletion of the entries, click Delete.

Delete a value from a record

You can delete a value in a record of types A, AAAA, MX and TXT. For a CNAME type record, you can only delete the entire record.

  1. In the dashboard, on the top menu, click Products and select Cloud Servers.
  2. Go to the Private DNS section.
  3. Open the zone page.
  4. In the Records block, in the row of the desired A or AAAA record, click and select Edit Record.
  5. In the IPv4 address or IPv6 address field, delete the desired IP address. You cannot delete all addresses; to do so, delete the entry.
  6. Click Save.
