Remove the baquette

If the bucket has an access policy, it must allow the deletion of each object in the bucket and the deletion of the bucket itself, more details in the Actions section of the Access Policy instruction.

Buckets with no more than 500,000 objects (including object segments) can be deleted via the control panel.Buckets with a large number of objects can only be deleted via the API.

It may take up to 24 hours to remove the baquette. During the removal process, no action may be taken with the baquette other than stopping the removal.

If versioning is enabled in a bucket, the versioned bucket will not be automatically deleted — it must be manually deleted.

Objects in a bucket are deleted one by one. While a bucket is being deleted, outgoing traffic and storage capacity of objects not yet deleted are charged. DELETE requests are not charged. For more information about charging and consumption, see the S3 Charging and Pricing Model instruction.

Remove the baquette

Before deleting, complete all API requests with objects in the bucket.

  1. In the control panel, on the top menu, click Products and select S3.
  2. Go to the Buckets section.
  3. In the baket bar, click .
  4. Enter the name of the cachet and click Delete. The Deleting status will be displayed in the cachet row . A pop-up notification will appear when the deletion is complete.

Possible errors

If an error occurs, a pop-up notification will appear:

  • Error when deleting a baket — internal error, create a ticket;
  • The limit on the number of tasks has been reached — the limit of tasks to delete has been exceeded (you can delete no more than 10 bucket at a time). Wait until other tasks are completed and delete the bucket.

Stop deletion

If the deletion of a bucket has not yet been completed, it can be stopped. When you stop deletion, only objects that have not yet been deleted remain in the bucket.

  1. In the control panel, on the top menu, click Products and select S3.
  2. Go to the Buckets section.
  3. Click on the link notifying you of the number of buckeyes to be removed.
  4. In the baket line, click .
