Connect Direct Connect — physical port
-
Select telecom operator in the Selectel data center.
-
Coordinate with the operator to connect to its equipment in the Selectel infrastructure.
-
Optional: check with the operator:
- coordinates of the equipment in the Selectel data center;
- if you plan to use the service to connect the Internet from the operator — the address of the public subnet that will be added to the VLAN by the operator.
-
In Control Panel, go to Network Services → Direct Connect.
-
Open the Physical Port tab.
-
Click Service Order.
-
Select the region and pool in which to organize the connection.
-
VLAN ID — Leave the field blank.
-
Select the bandwidth of the connection — 1 or 10 Gbps. The bandwidth determines the type of hardware that is used to organize the connectivity.
-
Optional: If a redundant connection is required, check the Reserved MC-LAG connection checkbox.
-
Enter the name of the service provider.
-
Optional: enter any additional information about the connection, such as operator coordinates for the connection — server room and rack number, connector type.
-
Click Order. We will create and send a ticket, in it we will specify details for further organization of connection.
-
When the connection is agreed upon, a port will be allocated on the Selectel switch for the cross connect from the selected carrier. The VLAN with this port will appear in Control Panel under Servers and colocation → Network → VLAN tab. We will provide this VLAN number in the service order ticket.
-
Configure the connection to the operator's channel depending on the purpose of using the service:
- configure carrier channel connection to connect internet from carrier;
- configure carrier channel connection to configure external-infrastructure connectivity.
