Install OS from standard images

When manually installing the OS from standard images you can partition disks arbitrarily and install the OS on any disk. If this is not necessary, we recommend install the OS by auto-installation. If the standard images do not suit you, install the OS from the your image.

You can only install the OS manually from standard images using Selectel Boot Menu.

All provided OS images are net-install versions, during the installation of which only the OS kernel and temporary file system are loaded. initrd. The rest of the files will need to be downloaded from a local or public repository.

  1. В control panels go to Servers and hardwareServers.

  2. Open the server page → tab Operating system.

  3. Click Change the upload template.

  4. In the field Upload template select Boot to Boot Menu.

  5. Click Save and reboot. The server will be rebooted.

  6. Connect to the server via KVM console.

  7. In the block Install Operating System select Install OS manually via netboot.xyz.

  8. In the block Set network interface number enter the network interface

  9. Click Enter.

  10. Enter the network interface settings. You can look in control panels under Servers and hardwareServers → server page → tab Network → subnet page.

  11. Select the OS image to install.

  12. Go through all the steps of installing the OS.

  13. В control panels go to Servers and hardwareServers.

  14. Open the server page → tab Operating system.

  15. Click Change the upload template.

  16. In the field Upload template revert back to the old pattern, like Boot default.

  17. Click Save and reboot. The server will be rebooted.
