Install OS manually from standard images

When manually installing the OS from standard images, you can randomly partition disks and install the OS on any disk.If you don't need it, we recommend installing the OS by auto-installation.If standard images are not suitable for you, install the OS from your own image.

You can only install the OS manually from standard images using Selectel Boot Menu.

All provided OS images are net-install versions, during installation of which only the OS kernel and the temporary file system — initrd — are loaded. The rest of the files will need to be downloaded from a local or public repository.

  1. In the control panel, in the top menu, click ProductsDedicated Servers.

  2. In the Servers section, open the Server page → Operating System tab.

  3. Click Change Upload Template.

  4. In the Boot Template field, select Boot to Boot Menu.

  5. Click Save and reboot. The server will be rebooted.

  6. Connect to the server through the KVM console.

  7. In the Install Operating System box, select Install OS manually via netboot.xyz.

  8. In the Set network interface number box, enter the network interface number

  9. Press Enter.

  10. Enter the network interface settings. You can view in the Control Panel: from the top menu, click ProductsDedicated ServersServers → Server → Server page → Network tab → Subnet page.

  11. Select the OS image to install.

  12. Go through all the steps of installing the OS.

  13. In the control panel, in the top menu, click ProductsDedicated Servers.

  14. In the Servers section, open the Server page → Operating System tab.

  15. Click Change Upload Template.

  16. In the Boot Template field, return the previous template, such as Boot default.

  17. Click Save and reboot. The server will be rebooted.
