Configure virtual IP addresses
Configure virtual IP addresses
Virtual IP addresses are used to configure multiple IP addresses from different subnets (including private addresses) on a single network interface.
Example of creating a Virtual IP as a secondary IP.
Create Virtual IP
-
In GUI, in the main menu, go to Firewall → Virtual IPs.
-
Press Add.
-
Enter the basic parameters for Virtual IP:
- Type — IP Alias;
- Interface — the network interface on which the configuration is performed;
- Address(es) — The IP address that is used as the secondary IP.
-
Press Save.
-
Click Apply Changes to apply the configuration.
Check connectivity
-
In GUI, in the main menu, go to Diagnostics → Ping.
-
Enter the network interface parameters of one of the devices:
- Hostname — IP address;
- IP Protocol;
- Source address — IP address that is used as secondary IP.
-
Press Ping.
-
Make sure there is cohesiveness. If there is no connectivity, check the Virtual IP settings.
