Restore a network drive from backup

Restoring from network disk backups creates a new disk with the same type and capacity as the original disk.

Backup recovery time depends on the backup size. For example, a 100 GB backup will be restored in 11 minutes. During recovery, the network disk for which the backup was created will be in the RESTORING-BACKUP status.

You cannot restore from a backup to the original disk or to a new cloud server. You can connect the recovered disk to a cloud server or create a new server from it.

  1. In the Control panel, on the top menu, click Products and select Cloud Servers.
  2. Go to the Disks section.
  3. From the menu of the disk, select Recover disk from backup.
  4. Select a restore point — this is the point in time at which the backup was created.
  5. Enter the name of the new disk.
  6. Click Create Disk.
