Manage backup jobs
Create a task
- Open the Veeam Backup & Replication portal. You can access the portal from Control Panel: VMware-based Cloud → Backup → Customize Backup.
- Open the Jobs tab.
- Press Create.
- In the Job Settings step, enter a job name and description.
- In the Retention policy box, specify the number of recovery points or days of data retention.
- Press Next.
- At the Virtual Machines step, click Add.
- Select the virtual machines, vApp, or organization for which you are configuring backups.
- Press OK.
- Optional: To remove an individual virtual machine from backup, click Exclusions → Add and select the VM.
- Press Next.
- Optional: To create a transactionally consistent backup for applications on Windows VMs compatible with MS VSS (Volume Shadow Copy Service), at the Guest Processing step, select the Enable application-aware image-processing checkbox. We recommend creating a transactional-consistent backup when there are no transactional applications on the VM, for example, for common file servers.
- Optional: To enable file searching in backups, check the Enable guest file system indexing checkbox. You can search and restore files without enabling this feature.
- If you checked at least one checkbox in the Guest Processing step, enter credentials in the Guest OS credentials box.
- Press Next.
- In the Job Schedule step, configure a schedule for automatic backups.
- Press Next.
- Optional: on the Email Notifications step, check the Enable e-mail notifications checkbox and configure to send notifications about the status of backup tasks.
- Press Finish.
Start a job
- Open the Veeam Backup & Replication portal. You can access the portal from Control Panel: VMware-based Cloud → Backup → Customize Backup.
- Open the Jobs tab.
- Mark the assignment.
- Press Start.
Restart the job
- Open the Veeam Backup & Replication portal. You can access the portal from Control Panel: VMware-based Cloud → Backup → Customize Backup.
- Open the Jobs tab.
- Mark the assignment.
- Press Jobs → Restart.
Make an active full backup on task
- Open the Veeam Backup & Replication portal. You can access the portal from Control Panel: VMware-based Cloud → Backup → Customize Backup.
- Open the Jobs tab.
- Mark the assignment.
- Press Jobs → Active Full.
Edit job
- Open the Veeam Backup & Replication portal. You can access the portal from Control Panel: VMware-based Cloud → Backup → Customize Backup.
- Open the Jobs tab.
- Mark the assignment.
- Click Jobs → Edit.
Disable task
- Open the Veeam Backup & Replication portal. You can access the portal from Control Panel: VMware-based Cloud → Backup → Customize Backup.
- Open the Jobs tab.
- Mark the assignment.
- Press Jobs → Disable.
Delete job
- Open the Veeam Backup & Replication portal. You can access the portal from Control Panel: VMware-based Cloud → Backup → Customize Backup.
- Open the Jobs tab.
- Mark the assignment.
- Press Jobs → Delete.
Download the job list in Excel
- Open the Veeam Backup & Replication portal. You can access the portal from Control Panel: VMware-based Cloud → Backup → Customize Backup.
- Open the Jobs tab.
- Mark the assignment.
- Press Export.
