Manage virtual data center users
When you create a virtual data center, a user with the administrator role is automatically created. You can create additional users and give them access to virtual data centers.
Create a user
- From control panel open the Cloud Director panel: VMware-based cloud → Cloud Director.
- Log in to Cloud Director with an administrator account. To view the administrator credentials and reset the password, go to control panel: VMware-based cloud → Users.
- Open the tab Administration.
- Go to the section Access Control → Users.
- Click New.
- Enter the user's name, password, and role. A user with the Organization Administrator role always has access to all data centers in the organization.
- Click Save. The new user is displayed in control panel on the tab Users.
Grant user access to the virtual data center
- In control panel go to VMware-based cloud → Users.
- In the user card, open the tab Access to virtual data centers.
- In the row with the virtual data center you want to grant access to, turn on the toggle switch.
Change user password
In the control panel
In Cloud Director.
- In control panel go to VMware-based cloud → Users.
- In the user card, open the tab Password.
- Enter a new password or press Generate.
- Copy or memorize the password. Once the password is saved, it cannot be viewed.
- Click Save.
- From control panel open the Cloud Director panel: VMware-based cloud → Cloud Director.
- Open the tab Administration.
- Go to the section Access control → Users.
- Open the user page.
- Click EDIT.
- In the field Password enter a new password.
- In the field Confirm password re-enter the new password.
- Click SAVE.
