Delete virtual data center

If the virtual data center is deleted, all information stored in it will be deleted — it will be impossible to restore this data.

Once the virtual data center is deleted, the payment for the public cloud will stop.

  1. Uninstall vApps.
  2. Delete virtual machines, not tied to a vApp.
  3. Remove the disks.
  4. Delete the directories.
  5. Delete an empty virtual data center.

Remove disks

  1. From control panel open the Cloud Director panel: VMware-based cloudCloud Director.
  2. Open the virtual data center page.
  3. Go to the section StorageNamed Disks.
  4. Mark the disks.
  5. Click Delete.

Delete directories

Together with the directory, all its contents — vApp templates and downloaded files — are deleted.

One directory can contain files that belong to different virtual data centers. If you delete such a directory, its files will become unavailable to other data centers. If the directory contains such objects, do not delete it, but rather delete individual files and vApp templates that apply only to the virtual data center being removed.

  1. From control panel open the Cloud Director panel: VMware-based cloudCloud Director.
  2. Open the virtual data center page → tab Libraries.
  3. Optional: download the contents of the catalogs in the section Content LibrariesvApp Templates or Content LibrariesMedia & Other.
  4. Go to the section Content LibrariesCatalogs.
  5. On the menu. of the catalog, click Delete.

Delete files

  1. From control panel open the Cloud Director panel: VMware-based cloudCloud Director.
  2. Open the virtual data center page.
  3. Open the tab Libraries.
  4. Go to the section Content LibrariesCatalogs.
  5. On the menu. of the file, press Delete.

Delete vApp templates

  1. From control panel open the Cloud Director panel: VMware-based cloudCloud Director.
  2. Open the virtual data center page.
  3. Open the tab Libraries.
  4. Go to the section Content LibrariesvApp Templates.
  5. On the menu. of the template, press Delete.

Delete an empty virtual data center

  1. In control panel go to VMware-based cloud.
  2. On the menu. virtual data center click Delete data center.
