Manage Direct Connected subnets

A Direct Connected subnet is a public subnet to which virtual machines directly connect and obtain IP addresses from this network, without using an Edge router.

A Direct Connected subnet can contain from 5 to 253 IPv4 addresses. The limit on Direct Connected subnets is five per organization. To increase the limit, create a ticket.

Create a Direct Connected subnet

  1. In Control Panel, go to Cloud powered by VMware.
  2. Open the Virtual Data Centers tab.
  3. Open the virtual data center page.
  4. Open the Direct Connected subnets tab.
  5. Click Create DC subnet.
  6. Select the size of the subnet.
  7. Press Create.

Remove Direct Connected subnet

Before removing the Direct Connected subnet in the Cloud Director pane, disconnect all virtual machines and vApps from it.

  1. In Control Panel, go to Cloud powered by VMware.
  2. Open the Virtual Data Centers tab.
  3. Open the Virtual Data Center page → Direct Connected subnets tab.
  4. On the subnet line, click .
  5. Enter the subnet address to confirm the deletion.
  6. Press Delete.
