Manage Direct Connected subnets

A Direct Connected subnet is a public subnet to which virtual machines directly connect and obtain IP addresses from this network, without using an Edge router.

A Direct Connected subnet can contain from 5 to 253 IPv4 addresses. The limit for Direct Connected subnets is five per organization. To increase the limit, create a ticket.

Create a Direct Connected subnet

  1. In the Control panel, on the top menu, click Products and select VMware-based Cloud.
  2. Go to the Virtual Data Centers section.
  3. Open the Virtual Data Center page → Direct Connected subnets tab.
  4. Click Create DC subnet.
  5. Select the size of the subnet.
  6. Click Create.

Delete Direct Connected subnet

Before removing the Direct Connected subnet in the Cloud Director pane, disconnect all virtual machines and vApps from it.

  1. In the Control panel, on the top menu, click Products and select VMware-based Cloud.
  2. Go to the Virtual Data Centers section.
  3. Open the Virtual Data Center page → Direct Connected subnets tab.
  4. In the subnet row, click .
  5. Enter the subnet address to confirm the deletion.
  6. Click Delete.
