Manage Direct Connected subnets

A Direct Connected subnet is a public subnet to which virtual machines directly connect and obtain IP addresses from this network, without using an Edge router.

A Direct Connected subnet can contain from 5 to 253 IPv4 addresses. The limit on Direct Connected subnets is five per organization. To increase the limit, file a ticket.

Create a Direct Connected subnet

  1. In control panel go to VMware-based cloud.
  2. Open the tab Virtual data centers.
  3. Open the virtual data center page.
  4. Open the tab Direct Connected subnets.
  5. Click Create a DC subnet.
  6. Select the size of the subnet.
  7. Click Create.

Delete Direct Connected subnet

Before removing the Direct Connected subnet in the Cloud Director pane, disconnect all virtual machines and vApps from it.

  1. In control panel go to VMware-based cloud.
  2. Open the tab Virtual data centers.
  3. Open the virtual data center page → tab Direct Connected subnets.
  4. On the subnet line, click .
  5. Enter the subnet address to confirm the deletion.
  6. Click Delete.
