Create a common network between virtual data centers

Organization-level shared LANs are designed to provide network connectivity between virtual machines hosted in different virtual datacenters. The shared network can be shared with other virtual datacenters in the organization.

Create a common network

  1. From control panel open the Cloud Director panel: VMware-based cloudCloud Director.
  2. Open the virtual data center page.
  3. Go to the section NetworkingNetworks.
  4. In the Networking Wizard, click New.
  5. Create a network. When setting up the network in the General toggle switch Shared.

Make the existing network shared

  1. From control panel open the Cloud Director panel: VMware-based cloudCloud Director.
  2. Open the virtual data center page.
  3. Go to the section NetworkingNetworks.
  4. Open the network page → tab General.
  5. Click EDIT.
  6. Turn on the toggle switch Shared.
  7. Click SAVE.
