Connect disaster recovery through Veeam Cloud Connect Replication
You can connect disaster recovery to the Selectel cloud from the On-Premises infrastructure.
To connect disaster recovery via Veeam Cloud Connect Replication, you must have Veeam Backup & Replication™ in version 9.5 Update 4b or higher or Veeam Availability Suite deployed.
- Create a virtual data center.
- Order disaster recovery connectivity via Veeam Cloud Connect Replication.
- Connect Veeam Backup & Replication to Veeam Cloud Connect in Selectel.
- Create a replication job.
1. Create a virtual data center
Use the instructions Create a virtual data center.
2. Order a disaster recovery connection
- В control panels from the top menu, press Products and select VMware-based cloud.
- Go to the section DRaaS.
- Select the virtual data center for which you will configure disaster recovery.
- Specify the number of replicated virtual machines.
- Click Order.
- We will create a ticket and send you the connection details.
3. Connect Veeam Backup & Replication to Veeam Cloud Connect in Selectel
Use the instructions Connect Veeam Cloud Connect.
4. Create a replication task
Read more about configuring replication jobs in the instructions Creating Replication Jobs Veeam documentation.

In the Veeam Backup & Replication panel, go to the HOME.

Click Replication Job →Virtual machine.

In step Job:
3.1 In the field Name enter a name for the job.
3.2 Optionally: in the field Description add a job description.
3.3 Optional: if you already have this virtual machine in Veeam Cloud Connect and you want to enable traffic saving and replication acceleration, check the checkbox Replica seeding.
3.4 Optional: to enable network remapping and reduce RPO, check the checkbox Network remapping.
3.5. If the IP address in your cloud and Selectel's cloud are different, check the checkbox Replica re-IP.
3.6. Press Next.

In step Virtual machines:
4.1. Press Add.
4.2 Add the virtual machine for which you will connect disaster recovery.
4.3. Press Next.

In step Destination:
5.1 In the field Host or cluster click Choose.
5.2. Select Cloud host.
5.3 Select Selectel's virtual data center.
5.4 Optionally: change the vApp and storage policy.
5.5. Press Next.

If at step Name you checked the box Network remapping, on the step Network:
6.1. Press Add.
6.2 In the field Source network click Browse.
6.3 Select the networks in your infrastructure that will be mapped to networks in the Selectel cloud.
6.4. Press OK →OK → Next.

If at step Name you checked the box Replica re-IP, on the step Re-IP:
7.1 Set up the addressing rules.
7.2. Press Next.

In step Job Settings:
8.1. In the field Replica name suffix Specify the virtual machine replica name prefix.
8.2 In the field Restore points to keep specify the number of copies.
8.3. Press Next.

In step Data Transfer:
9.1 Configure a proxy or leave the default proxy.
9.2 Optionally: to speed up replication due to compression, configure WAN acceleration (not available in all versions of Veeam Backup & Replication).
9.3. Press Next.

If at step Name you checked the box Replica seeding, on the step Seeding Configure primary replication acceleration for existing virtual machines.

In step Guest Processing:
11.1 Optional: To create consistent replicas of running virtual machines and protect guest OS applications, check the checkbox Enable application-aware processing, see instructions for details Application-Aware Processing Veeam documentation.
11.2. Press Next.

In step Schedule:
12.1 Optional: to configure automatic start of replication on schedule, check the checkbox Run the job automatically and configure the replication frequency.
12.2. Press Apply.

In step Summary:
13.1 Check the job settings.
13.2 Optionally: to start replication automatically after job creation, check the checkbox Run the job when I click Finish.
13.3. Press Finish. The task is displayed in the section HOME → Jobs →Replications.
