VMware-based disaster recovery to the cloud payment and pricing model

Balance

To pay for disaster recovery to VMware-based cloud (DRaaS), depending on the balance type in the account, either united-balance or VMware-based cloud balance is used.

You can pay for the public cloud with different types of funds: basic funds, bonuses or VK bonuses.

Before ordering or setting up disaster recovery, top-up balance.

You can set up balance notifications and auto-replenishment to ensure that you always have enough money in your balance.

Payment Model

DRaaS is paid on a pay-as-you-go model — every hour an amount is charged for consumed public cloud resources where replicated virtual machines are hosted. Money starts to be deducted from the moment the virtual data center is created.

DRaaS is billed as long as the Selectel cloud is storing replicated virtual machines, even if they are powered off. For machines that are turned off, 30% of the CPU and RAM cost is paid, the rest of the resources are paid at full cost.

To stop payment, disable replication and delete virtual-data-center.

Blocking resources if there is not enough money on the balance

If there is not enough money on the balance to pay for the consumed resources, access to the virtual data center is suspended. Meanwhile, public cloud resources (vCPU, memory, disks, Edge routers, IP addresses, Direct Connected subnets) continue to be charged.

To regain access top-up balance.

If you do not top up within 14 days, all virtual machines and other resources will be deleted with no possibility of recovery.

Prices

You can view resource prices and calculate the approximate cost of using DRaaS using the calculator at selectel.ru.

The cost of DRaaS is made up of the cost of public cloud resources:

  • number of virtual machines for which DRaaS is connected;
  • CPU and RAM;
  • disks;
  • Edge routers;
  • IP addresses;
  • the number of days of cloud operation in the event of an accident.

View consumption

You can view consumption of all public cloud resources, including DRaaS resources, in dashboard under VMware-based CloudConsumption, see VMware-based Public Cloud Payment and Pricing Model for details.

Reporting documents

After charging for DRaaS usage, you can get accounting documents.
