Rent a remote desktop

You can connect to DaaS using a browser (VMware Horizon HTML Access) or through the desktop client (VMware Horizon® Client).

  1. Order a remote desktop rental (DaaS).
  2. If you want to connect to the desktop through the VMware Horizon Client, download and configure it.
  3. Connect to desktop.
  4. Optional: implement additional VDI settings.

1. Order Remote Desktop⁠

  1. Create a ticket for DaaS service connection. In the ticket, specify the number of virtual machines and their configurations.

  2. Wait for a response in the ticket. We will send the connection details:

    • user name in VDI\s-xxxx-xxx format (for each desktop);
    • password (for each desktop);
    • administrator password.

2. Download and configure VMware Horizon Client⁠

  1. On the VMware Customer Connect website, click the Product Downloads tab.
  2. In the line with the desired OS, click GO TO DOWNLOADS.
  3. In the Select Version field, select a version (at least 2212).
  4. On the Product Downloads tab, click DOWNLOAD NOW. The file will download to your computer.
  5. Open the downloaded file and install the VMware Horizon Client.
  6. Start VMware Horizon.
  7. Click Add Server.
  8. Enter the value daas.vmw.selectel.com.
  9. Press Connect.

3. Connect to the desktop⁠

  1. Open the VMware Horizon Client desktop client or open daas.vmw.selectel.com in a browser.
  2. In the Username field, enter the username we submitted in the ticket.
  3. In the Password field, enter your desktop password.
  4. Select the virtual machine you want to open via remote desktop.
  5. Enter the administrator's password.
