Rent a remote desktop

You can connect to DaaS using a browser (VMware Horizon HTML Access) or through the desktop client (VMware Horizon® Client).

  1. Order remote desktop rental (DaaS).
  2. If you want to connect to the desktop through the VMware Horizon Client, download and customize it.
  3. Connect to the desktop.
  4. Optional: make additional VDI settings.

Order a remote desktop⁠

  1. Create a ticket for DaaS service connection. In the ticket, specify the number of virtual machines and their configurations.

  2. Wait for a response in the ticket. We will send the connection data:

    • user name in the format VDI\s-xxxx-xxx (for each desktop);
    • password (for each desktop);
    • administrator password.

Download and configure the VMware Horizon Client⁠

  1. Open it up Customer Connect website.
  2. In the field Select Version select a version (at least 2212).
  3. On the tab Product Downloads click DOWNLOAD NOW. The file will download to your computer.
  4. Open the downloaded file and install the VMware Horizon Client.
  5. Start VMware Horizon.
  6. Click Add Server.
  7. Enter a value daas.vmw.selectel.com
  8. Click Connect.

Connect to the desktop⁠

  1. Open the VMware Horizon Client desktop client or in a browser, open the daas.vmw.selectel.com..
  2. In the field Username enter the username that we sent in a ticket.
  3. In the field Password enter the password for the desktop.
  4. Select the virtual machine you want to open via remote desktop.
  5. Enter the administrator's password.
