The Veeam Cloud Connect cloud repository allows you to store backups of virtual machines, servers, and workstations in a backup repository within your Selectel infrastructure. Veeam Cloud Connect repository data is stored in the Saint Petersburg region in Availability Zone 2.

To connect Veeam Cloud Connect, you must have your own license for Veeam Backup & Replication™ (excluding the free version), Veeam Availability Suite, or another Veeam edition that allows the use of Veeam® Agent. If you are using the Backup by Agents product, the license and Veeam Cloud Connect cloud repository are included in the product; learn more in the instructions Backup by Agents product description (Veeam® Agent).

Supported Veeam Backup & Replication™ versions: 12.3.2.3617 and later.

Technical Implementation

To ensure fault tolerance, backup data is stored in three copies on different physical disks. To increase availability, all Veeam infrastructure components are either duplicated or deployed in fault-tolerant virtualization environments. You can use SSL encryption for data transfer and AES encryption for data storage.

All hosts use:

  • processors and SSDs from Intel;
  • HGST Enterprise SATA HDDs.

The channel speed to Veeam Backup & Replication™ servers is unlimited. The network is built on 10GbE interfaces.

In the cloud repository, clients are isolated from each other and have access only to their own backups.
