Restart VDS server

Two types of VDS server reboots are available:

• soft reboot without power-off;
• hard reboot with power-off.

Perform a soft reboot

The server will reboot without powering off. The operating system will shut down correctly and start again.

If the server does not respond within a fixed time, a hard reboot will be performed automatically — in this case, unsaved data may be lost.

1. In the Control panel, in the top menu, click Products and select VDS servers.

2. In the server menu, select Software reboot.

Perform a hard reboot

We recommend performing a hardware reboot only if the server is not responding. In other cases, power off and power on the server.

During a hard reboot, the server shuts down and immediately turns back on — in this case, unsaved data may be lost.

1. In the Control panel, on the top menu, click Products and select VDS servers.

2. In the server menu, select Hardware reboot.
