Create a VDS server

A VDS server will be created with a local disk and a public IP address — to connect to the server via SSH or RDP.

  1. In the control panel, on the top menu, click Products and select VDS servers.

  2. Click Create server.

  3. Fill in these blocks:

  4. Check the VDS server price. Read more in the instruction Payment model and VDS server prices.

  5. Click Create server.

Name and placement

  1. Enter a server name. It will be set as the hostname in the operating system.

  2. Select the region where the server will be created. You cannot change the region after the server is created.

Source

  1. Select a ready-to-use image with a pre-installed and configured operating system.

  2. Optional: if you need an older OS version, select the required version in the Version field.

Configuration

Only fixed configurations are available for a VDS server. After the server is created, you will be able to change the configuration.

Select a configuration.

Access

  1. Add an SSH key to the project for secure connection:

    1.1. To add a new key, click , enter a key name, paste the public key in OpenSSH format, and click Add.

    1.2. In the SSH key field, select an existing key if the user has a key added. An SSH key is only available in the pool where it is hosted.

  2. Optional: in the Password for “root” field:

    2.1. Copy the password for the root user — the user with unrestricted privileges for all system actions.

    2.2. Save the password in a secure place and do not transmit it in plaintext.
