Restore the virtual machine
You can recover the entire virtual machine if it is inoperable using Veeam Recovery Media. You can also use this method to recover active partitions or partitions used by the OS. For more information about recovery via Veeam Recovery Media, see Recovery with Veeam Recovery Media.
Preparing for recovery
For recovery to be possible, you must have a system image with required drivers (Linux) or a boot disk (Windows) created before recovery, see Recovery with Veeam Recovery Media.
The restored virtual machine will have a different BIOS UUID, so it is possible that duplicate machines may appear in Veeam Service Provider Console (vac.selectel.ru).
If you want to avoid this, remove the backup agent and management agent from the source machine before starting the restore. If the source machine is unavailable:
- On the Veeam Service Provider Console, go to Discovery → Managed computers.
- Open the Discovered Computers tab.
- Check the virtual machine.
- Click Management Agent → Delete.
