Restore the virtual machine
You can recover an entire virtual machine when it is inoperable using Veeam Recovery Media. You can also use this method to recover active partitions or partitions used by the OS. For more details on recovery via Veeam Recovery Media, please refer to the manual Recovery with Veeam Recovery Media.
Preparing for recovery
In order for recovery to be possible, you must have a system image with the necessary drivers (Linux) or a boot disk (Windows) created prior to recovery, see the instructions for details Recovery with Veeam Recovery Media.
The restored virtual machine will have a different BIOS UUID, so it is possible that duplicate machines may appear in the Veeam Service Provider Console (vac.selectel.ru).
If you want to avoid this, remove the backup agent and management agent from the source machine before starting the restore. If the source machine is unavailable:
- On the portal Veeam Service Provider Console go to Discovery → Managed computers.
- Open the tab Doscovered Computers.
- Check the virtual machine.
- Click Management Agent → Delete.
