Restore the car

You can recover the entire machine if it is inoperable using Veeam Recovery Media. This method can also be used to recover active partitions or partitions used by the OS.

Preparing for recovery

For recovery to be possible, you must have a system image with the necessary drivers (Linux) or a boot disk (Windows) created prior to recovery, see Prepare for Recovery with Veeam Recovery Media for details. If you are recovering a machine to the Selectel cloud platform, prepare a boot disk.

The recovered machine will have a different BIOS UUID, so there may be duplicate machines in Veeam Service Provider Console (vac.selectel.ru).If you want to avoid this, remove the backup agent and management agent from the source machine before starting the restore. If the source machine is unavailable, remove the management agent from the Veeam Service Provider Console portal.

Prepare a boot disk for recovery to the cloud platform

If you are restoring a machine to Selectel's cloud platform:

  1. Download the Veeam Recovery Media image from the Selectel image repository.

  2. Create a disk from the image.

  3. Make the disk bootable.

Remove the management agent in the portal

  1. In the Veeam Service Provider Console portal, go to DiscoveryManaged computers.
  2. Open the Discovered Computers tab.
  3. Mark the car.
  4. Click Management AgentDelete.
