Quick start

  1. Create a mobile farm.
  2. Start testing.
  3. Finish-working-with-device.
  4. Remove device from mobile farm.

Create a mobile farm⁠

  1. In Control Panel, go to Mobile Farm → Farms.
  2. Click Create Farm.
  3. Enter the name of the farm. It will only appear in the control panel.
  4. Select the number of required devices in the farm.
  5. If you need a device that is not on list, create a ticket and we'll look into adding it.
  6. Click Create Farm.
  7. Open the mobile farm page. Devices will be ready for operation when their status in the farm changes to ACTIVE.

Start testing⁠

We don't recommend it:

  • disable Debug to USB mode;
  • remove the STFservice application.

If you perform one of these actions by mistake, data from the device will stop being transmitted to your screen and the device will become inaccessible. To reactivate the device, create a ticket.

  1. In Control Panel, go to Mobile Farm → Farms.
  2. Open the mobile farm page.
  3. Press Start Testing.
  4. On the Devices tab of the Device Farmer (OpenSTF) application, select the device you will be testing. For other users in your mobile farm, the device will have a Busy status — they will not be able to use the device.
  5. Open the Control tab.
  6. Click on the App Upload section and select the APK file with the app or drag and drop the desired file into this section.
  7. The application will appear in the device management window.

Finalize the device⁠

When you're done testing the app on your mobile device, finalize the app so that the device is available to other users in your mobile farm.

When finished, all installed applications will be automatically uninstalled. Screenshots and logs will remain available. If necessary, remove them yourself before finalizing the device.

If you and other mobile farm users no longer plan to use the device, you can delete it from the mobile farm.

  1. In Control Panel, go to Mobile Farm → Farms.
  2. Open the mobile farm page.
  3. Press Start Testing.
  4. On the Devices tab, under the name of the device you want to stop using, click Stop Using.

Remove the device⁠

When you remove your device from the mobile farm, we will format it and reset all settings to factory defaults.

  1. In Control Panel, go to Mobile Farm → Farms.
  2. Open the mobile farm page.
  3. From the device menu, select Discontinue Device.
  4. To confirm the removal of the device from your mobile farm, enter its serial number.
  5. Press Cancel.
