General information about Cyber Backup Cloud product

Cyber Backup Cloud is a data backup and recovery solution with encryption virus protection from Cyberprotect. Cyber Backup is included in the Russian software registry and certified by FSTEC.

The solution is suitable for any physical servers, workstations and virtual machines running supported OS Windows and Linux. For macOS-based machines, only the Antivirus and Malware Protection feature is supported and no backup is supported.

Technical implementation

Agents

The agent is installed on the protected server, workstation, or VM. The agent performs protection and backups.

Cyber Backup features are only supported for machines that have the Protection Agent installed. For virtual machines protected without the use of an agent, only backups are supported.

Through the Cyber Backup dashboard (web interface), you can add protection devices, manage protection plans, and restore from backups.

System Requirements

With Cyber Backup, you can protect devices on operating systems:

  • Windows: Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 (SP1) and later, Windows 2008 R2 with Service Pack 1 (SP1) and later. Windows Defender antivirus program management is supported in Windows 8.1 and later;
  • Linux: OS 7.2 RED, CentOS 6.10, 7.8+, CloudLinux 6.10, 7.8+, Ubuntu 16.04.7+, where + are additional versions of these distributions. Operation of the product on other versions of Linux distributions is not guaranteed. For kernels of versions 5.17-6.2, manual assembly of the snapapi module is required, see the Building the SnapAPI module for Linux instructions in the Cyberprotect documentation for details. Kernels of versions 6.3-6.8 are not supported. For systems with these kernels, only file backup is available;
  • macOS: 10.13.x and later. Only Intel processor-based devices are supported.

The Cyber Backup service is currently in beta testing and is free of charge. We will alert you to the end of beta testing in advance.
