Update firmware

  1. Optional: back up.

  2. Create a ticket. In the ticket, specify:

    • the current version of FortiOS. You can view the current version number in the firewall interface under System → Firmware → Current version;
    • the desired version of FortiOS. You can check the current version number at vendor's website.

  3. We'll send in a ticket with the data:

    • The sequence of FortiOS versions to upgrade the operating system;
    • firmware files themselves with the .out extension.

  4. Download firmware files to the device through which you connect to the firewall.

  5. Connect to firewall.

  6. Go to System → Firmware.

  7. In the Upload Firmware box, click Browse.

  8. Upload the first file according to the sequence from the ticket.

  9. Click Backup config and upgrade.

  10. Press Continue. The device will begin to reboot.

  11. Wait for the updated system to start.

  12. Repeat steps 6-11 for each received file, following the sequence from the ticket.
