Order a dedicated server of any configuration
Server of arbitrary configuration can be assembled in the configurator in control panel.
Server assembly takes from one to five working days, depending on the configuration. When the server is ready for delivery, you will receive an e-mail notification and you will be able to access it hook up. This is where it starts paid period. When the paid period expires, the server will be extended automatically, the money will be deducted from the main balance. If you do not want to use the server anymore — give up the server.
For help in selecting components file a ticket in the control panel or contact us.
-
In control panel go to Servers and hardware → Servers.
-
Select project.
-
Click Order a server. If you don't already have a dedicated server, the order page will open automatically.
-
Click on the tab Server Configurator or GPU Server Configurator.
-
Optional: specify region, pool.
-
Check the information about the components in the column Configuration.
-
Familiarize yourself with the cost of the server. In addition to the cost of the server, the final cost will include the installation fee — the fee for assembling the server.
-
Please note additional information about the selected configuration. When ordering a server of arbitrary configuration Chipcore Line will change SLA, private network, etc.
-
Click Go to checkout.
-
On the tab Order placement check the server information and select:
- OS for automatic installation and its configuration. If you want to manually install the OS select No OS — boot. You can install and reinstall the OS after the server is handed over;
- for Linux servers SSH key. You can add a new public SSH key or select one from the repository for SSH keys;
- tariff plan;
-
Optional: on the tab Additional services check the list additional services available for the configured server. Services can be ordered after delivery of the server.
-
Click Pay Now.
-
Optional: top up.
-
Click Pay.
After ordering
When the server is ready for use, you will receive an email notification with the parameters to connections to it (login, password link, public IP address of the server). Also, the parameters for connecting to the server can be viewed in the control panel on the server page → tab Operating system.
The server password will be available to view for 24 hours from the time the server is handed over. If you forget your password, you can reset and restore it.
The list of ordered servers is displayed in control panel section Servers and hardware → Servers in the form of cards.
The server card displays the server name, identifier (ID), brief server information, and basic operations: KVM console; reboot; power management; and reorder.
Clicking on the server card opens the server page. On the server page you can:
- view payment information, date and period of the next payment, pay for the server;
- view server configuration information and change the configuration of a server of arbitrary configuration;
- network management;
- consumer statistics and change the traffic consumption pattern;
- manage server power, reboot the server (including in the recovery and diagnostic mode);
- work in KVM consoles;
- install and reinstall the operating system auto-installation or manually;
- order additional services and manage them.
Network
When the server is handed over, it is automatically allocated 1 IPv4 public address from a shared subnet. Additionally, you can order a dedicated block of IPv4-addresses and IPv6-addresses. To do this, in the control panel go to Servers and hardware → Network.
Select components in the configurator
The Selectel control panel features a configurator that will help you build a server with compatible components. If necessary, our specialists will answer all your questions and help you to choose a suitable configuration. Create a ticket in the control panel or contact us.
Processor
All processors are listed in the following pattern:
[Модель процессора] ([количество ядер] x [базовая тактовая частота])
[CPU benchmark]
Additional designations:
- HT — technology support HyperThreading;
- v3 / v6 / vX — version of the processor model.
For example, Intel E5-1650v3 (6x3.5 GHz HT).
Memory
The drop-down list allows you to select the amount of RAM in two ways:
- Select the size of the modules and the number of modules. The configurator will automatically show the total ordered volume.
- Select the total amount of memory.
Additional designations:
- Reg — register memory;
- ECC is an error correction mechanism.
For example, a 64GB DDR4 ECC Reg LRDIMM.
When selecting RAM, it is recommended to pay attention to the channelization of the processor. Maximum performance is achieved when all memory channels of the processor are utilized.
Disks
By default, the disks are installed in the following order: NVMe → SSD → HDD. If you need a different installation order, please specify it in the comments when placing an order.
The following types of server drives are available for ordering, which differ in both features and purpose:
- HDD — hard disk drives;
- SSDs are solid state drives that connect via a SATA interface;
- NVME — NVMe solid state drives;
- OPTANE is an Intel® SSD featuring 3D XPoint technology.
Additional designations:
- IMDT — technology support Intel® Memory Drive Technology;
- U.2 is the form factor of SSD disks;
- HHHL is a form factor for SSD disks.
Network cards
Each randomly configured server is equipped by default with two RJ45 network interfaces with a communication speed of 1 Gbps each. The first interface is used for the Internet connection, the second for the local network.
We can organize connection to the Internet and local network up to 400 Gbit/s, for this purposefile a ticket.
It is possible to order the installation of additional network cards and reserve the connection with MC-LAG.
- 2 x 1 GE + 1 Gbps Local Port — Optional NIC with two interfaces, each 1 Gbps, and 1 Gbps Local Port service;
- 2 x 1 GE + MC-LAG to 1 Gbit/s LAN — additional NIC with two interfaces, each 1 Gbit/s, as well as the MC-LAG Redundant Connection service for redundant LAN connection;
- 2 x 1 GE + MC-LAG to 1 Gbit/s Internet network — additional network card with two interfaces, each 1 Gbit/s, as well as MC-LAG Redundant Connection service for redundant Internet link;
- 2 x 10 GE + 10 Gbps Local Port — Optional NIC with two optical interfaces, each 10 Gbps, and 10 Gbps Local Port service;
- 2 x 10 GE + MC-LAG to 10 Gbps LAN — additional network card with two optical interfaces, each 10 Gbps, as well as the MC-LAG Redundant Connection service for redundant LAN connection;
- 2 x 10 GE + MC-LAG to 10 Gbit/s Internet network — additional network card with two optical interfaces, each 10 Gbit/s, as well as MC-LAG Redundant Connection service for redundant Internet link.
HBAs and RAID controllers
Ordering additional disk controllers is necessary when the number of disks exceeds the number of SATA ports on the motherboard or when additional data protection with hardware RAID is required:
- HBA (no RAID) 16 ports — allows up to 16 additional SATA/SAS disks, but does not support the ability to build a hardware RAID array;
- RAID controller 8 ports + Cache Protection — allows you to additionally connect up to 8 SATA/SAS drives, organize a hardware disk array and protect cache data in case of a sudden power outage;
- RAID controller 16 ports + Cache Protection — allows you to additionally connect up to 16 SATA/SAS disks, organize a hardware disk array and protect cache data in case of a sudden power outage;
- RAID controller 24 ports + Cache Protection — allows you to additionally connect up to 24 SATA/SAS disks, organize a hardware disk array and protect cache data in case of a sudden power outage;
- RAID controller 16 ports + SSD Cache — allows you to additionally connect up to 16 SATA/SAS disks and use an array of fast SSD disks to buffer read/write accesses to HDD-arrays and store the cache in case of a sudden power outage.
GPU
For servers with a graphics gas pedal unit (GPU), graphics cards are available in PCI-e devices. A maximum of 8 graphics cards can be installed in a single server.
