Renting additional ports for collocated hardware

Last update:

To provide additional network connectivity between hardware when placing a server and renting a rack, you can order an additional port on Selectel access switches.

The following are available for order: Internet ports and local ports of various configurations.

Internet ports

When ordering an Internet port, an additional Internet channel is organized for the collocated hardware, and a separate copper or optical cross-connect is installed (depending on the port configuration). No additional IP address is assigned; you must use IP addresses from the previously assigned subnets. Traffic is accounted for in accordance with the traffic consumption model selected for the server.

Port configurations

Internet port
1 Gbit/s
1 Gbit/s copper port and copper cross-connect
Internet port
10 Gbit/s
10 Gbit/s optical port and optical cross-connect
Internet port
2x1 Gbit/s (MC-LAG)
1 Gbit/s copper port and two copper cross-connects connected to independent switches
Internet port
2x10 Gbit/s (MC-LAG)
10 Gbit/s optical port and two optical cross-connects connected to independent switches

Local ports

When ordering a local port, an additional local network with a guaranteed data transfer speed is organized between the collocated servers. To connect multiple servers to a local network, you need to order a local port for each of them. After the service is ordered and paid for, a separate copper or optical cross-connect is installed to each server (depending on the port configuration).

Port configurations

Local network port
1 Gbit/s
1 Gbit/s copper port and copper cross-connect
Local network port
10 Gbit/s
10 Gbit/s optical port and optical cross-connect
Local network ports
2x1 Gbit/s (MC-LAG)
1 Gbit/s copper port and two copper cross-connects connected to independent switches
Local network ports
2x10 Gbit/s (MC-LAG)
10 Gbit/s optical port and two optical cross-connects connected to independent switches

Order a port for a collocated server

  1. In the Control panel, on the top menu, click Products and select Colocation.
