Move object

If you paste an object from the clipboard, it will replace the object in the bucket without warning.

For your information

If Bucket Policy exists:

  • in the bucket from which you need to move the object — it must allow reading and deleting the object;
  • in the bucket to which you need to move the object — it must allow adding the object to the bucket.

You can move an object to a different bucket or to a different folder in the current bucket.

If Object Lock is used in the bucket and the object being moved is locked, the object will be copied to the new bucket but will not be deleted from the source one. Moving objects in buckets with Object Lock is disabled in the control panel but is available via Object Storage API.

  1. In the control panel, on the top menu, click Products and select S3.
  2. Go to the Buckets section.
  3. Open the bucket page → Objects tab.
  4. Select the object.
  5. Click Move.
  6. Open the page of the required bucket or the destination folder in the current bucket where you want to move the object.
  7. Click Paste into current folder.
