Copy object

Last update:
carefully

When you paste an object from the clipboard, it replaces the object in the destination bucket without warning.

For your information

If bucket policy exists:

  • in the bucket where the object is located — it must allow reading the object;
  • in the bucket where you want to copy the object — it must allow adding the object to the bucket.

Learn more in the Actions subsection of the Bucket Policy instructions.

You can copy an object to another bucket or another folder in the current bucket.

When copying objects via S3 API, you can use conditional requests.

  1. In the control panel, on the top menu, click Products and select S3.
  2. Go to the Buckets section.
  3. Open the Objects tab.
  4. Select the object.
  5. Click Copy.
  6. Open the page of the required bucket or the destination folder in the current bucket where you want to copy the object.
  7. Click Paste to current folder.
