Create a virtual data center
A virtual data center is a collection of virtual cloud computing resources (processors, memory, disk capacity, networks). Virtual data centers are created within an organization.
In a virtual data center, you can create virtual machines, vApp, networks.
When a virtual data center is created, an Edge gateway is created automatically.
By default, you can create no more than five virtual data centers. Virtual data centers have their own limits. The number and limits of virtual data centers can be increased.
Limits
Limits do not affect resource costs; they only restrict the maximum consumption level. To increase limits or the number of virtual data centers, create a ticket.
Standard limits:
Create virtual data center
-
In the Control panel, on the top menu, click Products and select VMware-based Cloud.
-
Go to the Virtual data centers section.
-
Click Create virtual data center.
-
Select the cluster type:
- Gold-1 — a cluster with high-performance storage, suitable for high-load applications and databases;
- Gold-1 (multizonal) — a cluster with high-performance storage, suitable for high-load applications and databases that are particularly demanding in terms of fault tolerance;
- Silver-1 — a cluster with general-purpose storage and optimized cost, suitable for most tasks;
- Platinum-1 (only in the Moscow region) — a cluster on processors with a base frequency of 3.10 GHz and high-performance storage, suitable for applications requiring high CPU frequency and disk subsystem speed;
- AMD HiFreq-1 (only in the Moscow region) — an ultra-high-performance cluster with a base frequency of 4.1 GHz, suitable for resource-intensive applications that require extreme CPU frequency and high disk subsystem speeds.
-
Click Create virtual data center.
The cluster will be created in your organization's region. Cluster availability zones can be viewed in the availability matrix.
View the virtual data center external IP address
- From the control panel, open the Cloud Director panel: in the top menu, click Products → VMware-based Cloud → Cloud Director.
- Open the virtual data center page.
- Go to the Networking → Networks.
- Open the page for the required Edge gateway.
- Go to the Configuration → Gateway Interfaces.
- In the Primary IP column, view the external IP address.
