# Create a shared network between virtual data centers

Organization-level shared local networks are designed to provide network connectivity between virtual machines located in different virtual data centers. A shared network can be shared with other virtual data centers within an organization.

## Create a shared network \{#create-shared-network}

1. From the [control panel](https://my.selectel.ru/vmware/), open the Cloud Director panel: in the top menu, click **Products** → **VMware-based cloud** → **Cloud Director** section.
2. Open the virtual data center page.
3. Go to **Networking** → **Networks**.
4. In the network creation wizard, click **New**.
5. [Create a network](/public-cloud/manage-networks/create-network/). When configuring the network in the **General** section, enable the **Shared** toggle.

## Make an existing network shared \{#make-existing-network-shared}

1. From the [control panel](https://my.selectel.ru/vmware/), open the Cloud Director panel: in the top menu, click **Products** → **VMware-based cloud** → **Cloud Director** section.
2. Open the virtual data center page.
3. Go to **Networking** → **Networks**.
4. Open the network page → **General** tab.
5. Click **EDIT**.
6. Enable the **Shared** toggle.
7. Click **SAVE**.
