Blocked IP addresses
Blocked IP addresses
In the event of a massive attack on a server that negatively impacts the network infrastructure, the server's IP address can be blocked for all incoming traffic using blackhole (RTBH).
The lockout is for 8 hours and can be extended if the attack continues. You will receive a ticket when a lockout is imposed.
View blocked IP addresses
- In control panel go to Network services → Network incidents.
- Open the tab Blocked IP addresses. The blocking period is displayed for each blocked address.
Unblock an IP address
-
Wait for the lockout to end — it lasts for 8 hours and is removed automatically if the attack has stopped. If you need to lift the lockdown sooner, file a ticket and wait for a response from support with recommendations on the necessary actions.
-
Optional: to prevent re-attack and blocking:
- change the IP address of the server;
- plug in other type of protection.
