Transfer domain to another project or account

You can transfer the domain to another project or another account.

Transfer domain to another project

  1. In the Control Panel, in the top menu, click Products and select Domains.

  2. Open the Active Domains tab.

  3. From the menu of the domain, select Transfer to another project.

  4. Select the project to which you want to transfer the domain.

  5. Click Transfer.

Transfer domain to another account

If you transfer to another account, the domain administrator details will be deleted, you will need to fill them in again.

If you want to transfer a domain between your accounts without changing the admin, create a ticket.

  1. Transfer the domain in the current owner's account.
  2. Accept the domain in the new owner's account.

1. Transfer the domain in the current owner's account

  1. In the control panel, log in to the account where the domain resides.

  2. From the top menu, click Products and select Domains.

  3. From the menu of the domain, select Change Administrator.

  4. Paste the project ID from the account where you want to transfer the domain. The project ID can be copied in the control panel: in the top menu click ProductsDomains → open the projects menu (name of the current project) → in the project line click .

  5. Click Confirm. The domain status will change to CHANGE CONTACT. When the new owner accepts the domain in their account, the domain will disappear from the list.

2. Accept the domain in the new owner's account

In the account of the new owner, it is necessary to specify the data of the new domain administrator — it can be a physical person, including an individual entrepreneur, or a legal entity.

  1. In the control panel, log in to the new owner's account.

  2. From the top menu, click Products and select Domains.

  3. Open the domain page.

  4. If you have already entered administrator information for another domain, click Select Administrator, select an administrator from the list, and proceed to step 8.

  5. If you need to enter the details of a new administrator, click New Administrator.

  6. Select the type of administrator — Individual (including sole proprietorships).

  7. Enter the administrator's information:

    7.1.Enter contact information: country of citizenship, email, phone number, full name (as indicated in the passport), TIN.

    7.2.Enter the details of the identity document:

    • for residents of the Russian Federation — passport data: series and number, date of issue, date of birth, by whom issued;
    • for non-residents of the Russian Federation — passport or ID-card data: number and date of birth.

    7.3.Enter the registration address: postal code, name of the settlement, region, street, house and apartment.

  8. Check the box I agree to the processing of personal data in accordance with the Policy.

  9. Click Accept Domain. The domain will appear in the Domains section.

    When the change of administrator is completed, the domain status in the Domains section will change to ACTIVE. You will receive a notification about it to the email you specified for the domain administrator.

  10. If the domain resource records are stored in Selectel DNS hosting, create a ticket to transfer them to the new account. In the ticket, specify:

    • name or zone ID with domain records can be copied in the control panel: in the top menu, click ProductsDNS hosting → zone page;
    • The ID of the project where the zone is located can be copied in the control panel: in the top menu, click ProductsDNS hosting → open the projects menu (name of the current project) → in the project line, click ;
    • The project ID you specified when transferring the domain in step 4.
  11. If you have specified third-party hosting NS servers for the domain, they will automatically change to Selectel's NS servers. To transfer control of resource records back to the third-party host, change the NS servers.
