Check domain via Whois

Whois is a service based on the Whois protocol that allows you to obtain data about a domain name and its administrator. Whois service in Selectel provides information about .ru and .rf domains.

  1. On selectel.ru, go to Products → Domains.

  2. In the search box, type your domain name.

  3. In the search box, click Whois.

  4. Check the domain data.

Domain data in Whois⁠

The set of data that is available in Whois depends on the domain zone, its registrar and the type of administrator (individual or organization).

NS servers

Domains and IP addresses of NS servers to which the domain is delegated

Domain Administrator

The organization to which the domain belongs. Displayed only for domains that are registered to a legal entity

Domain State

Three statuses can be displayed:

  • registered-- domain registered;
  • delegated — the domain is tied to the hosting;
  • verified — the owner has confirmed his data with the domain registrar
