Resource availability in locations for migration
Due to high load on the Selectel infrastructure, resources are not available in all locations, and their availability is constantly changing. Resources are periodically added to different pools depending on where free space becomes available. Therefore, you need to check the availability of resources in a specific location before migrating.
Can resources be reserved
You cannot reserve resources. Our engineering teams make every effort to ensure resource availability across all regions, but we cannot guarantee their availability.
How to check resource availability
Main ways to check resource availability:
-
control panel — try creating a new resource or changing the configuration of an existing one. If you get an error during the check or the creation or modification process takes a long time, it means there are not enough resources to fulfill your request. First, try choosing a different configuration in this location. For cloud resources, the recommended order for checking configurations is: Standard line → configurations with local disk → HighFreq line;
If cloud resources are unavailable in the desired location
If there are no cloud resources in the desired location, consider alternatives:
If you are already using cloud resources
We recommend not recreating existing resources manually and making sure that they will not be recreated automatically when changing resources, for example, during scaling. When recreating, the resources you need may no longer be available in this location — another user will have taken them.
Resource availability abroad
If you are considering placing some of your resources abroad, we recommend selecting the Tashkent region, pools uz-1b or uz-2a when creating resources. If you want to use resources in Kazakhstan or Kenya, we recommend checking resource availability during migration, but we cannot guarantee resource availability.
If you plan to store personal data abroad, see the Storing data backups in another country guide.
