FAQ: Migration to Selectel Email Service
How can I test Selectel Email Service?
For testing, you just need to enable Email Service — you can send up to 1,000 emails per month for free. Learn more about billing in the Payment Model and Pricing for Selectel Email Service guide.
What does the 450 ratelimit exceeded error mean?
The 450 ratelimit exceeded error means that the sending rate limit for the resource has been exceeded — 20 emails per five minutes across all domains of the resource. Wait a few minutes and try sending again.
Learn more about errors in the SMTP Dialogue Errors guide.
How to increase the email sending limit?
To increase the email sending limit, submit a ticket. In the ticket, specify:
- purpose of email campaigns;
- desired number of emails per five minutes.
Why are emails not being delivered or rejected by Yandex Mail?
Yandex Mail is experiencing issues: emails may not be delivered or may be rejected as spam with the 554 Message rejected under suspicion of SPAM error, even when DKIM, SPF, and DMARC are configured correctly.
Please wait until Yandex staff restore the service operation.
Can I configure Return-Path on my domain?
Specifying your domain in the Return-Path header is only possible when enabling the paid Dedicated Sender service. To learn more about the service and activate it, submit a ticket.
How to remove bulk and List-Unsubscribe headers from transactional emails?
The service headers Precedence: bulk, X-MSG-TYPE: bulk, and List-Unsubscribe indicate that the email was sent via a bulk mailing system and contain the standard RFC unsubscribe mechanism.
The List-Unsubscribe header cannot be removed on the service side.
The Precedence: bulk and X-MSG-TYPE: bulk headers can only be removed when enabling the paid Dedicated Sender service. To learn more about the service and activate it, submit a ticket. Without enabling Dedicated Sender, you can replace the value of the Precedence header by passing your own header Precedence: transaction.
If your incoming email processing logic treats bulk headers as unwanted, adjust the processing rules on your side.
