# Load balancer payment model and pricing

## Balance \{#balance}

To pay for a fault-tolerant load balancer, a [unified balance](/balance-and-payments/balance.mdx#united-balance) or [main balance](/balance-and-payments/balance.mdx#balances-by-service-type) is used, depending on the account balance type.

You can pay for a fault-tolerant load balancer using different [types of funds](/balance-and-payments/balance.mdx#funds-types): basic funds or bonuses.

## Payment model \{#payment-model}

A fault-tolerant load balancer is paid for monthly according to your chosen [billing option](#billing-options). The payment date is set to the day the load balancer is provisioned, which also marks the start of the first paid month. Charges for the second and subsequent months are automatically deducted from the [balance](#balance).

## Billing options \{#billing-options}

When you connect a fault-tolerant load balancer, you must choose a billing option that defines the following:

* bandwidth;
* traffic volume;
* number of concurrent connections to the load balancer — for more details, see the [Limits](/load-balancer/about/about-load-balancer.mdx#limitations) section of the [Fault-tolerant load balancer product description](/load-balancer/about/about-load-balancer.mdx).

### Change billing option \{#change-billing-option}

1. [Create a ticket](https://my.selectel.ru/tickets/create) with a request to change the fault-tolerant load balancer billing option.
2. Wait for a Selectel employee to confirm that the billing option has been changed.

## Blocking if there are insufficient funds on your balance \{#insufficient-balance}

If your balance does not have enough funds to pay for the service for the next month, we will send a notification regarding the need to [top up your balance](/balance-and-payments/manage/top-up-balance.mdx). The service will be disabled on the first day after the paid period ends.

If bank transfers take a long time or you are unable to top up your balance, legal entities can [request a balance top-up deferral](/balance-and-payments/manage/balance-replenishment.mdx) for up to five days. Additionally, you can enable [balance notifications](/balance-and-payments/manage/balance-notifications.mdx) and [set up automatic balance top-ups](/balance-and-payments/manage/scheduled-payments.mdx).
