Connect to a FortiGate firewall

The settings in the instructions are relevant for FortiOS versions 6.x and 7.x. If you have a different version of FortiOS, you can find documentation for it in the FortiGate control panel in the upper-right corner or on the official FortiGate website.

Graphical interface

1. Open the following page in your browser:

   https://<ip_address>

   Specify <ip_address> — the IP address of the firewall that you received in the ticket after ordering the service.

2. Log in with the administrator username and password. If you are logging in for the first time, use the username and password received in the ticket after ordering the service.

CLI

1. Open the CLI.

2. Connect to the firewall via SSH:

   ssh <username>@<ip_address>

   Specify:

   • <username> — the administrator username. If you are logging in for the first time, use the username received in the ticket after ordering the service;
   • <ip_address> — the IP address of the firewall that you received in the ticket after ordering the service.

3. Enter the administrator password. If you are logging in for the first time, use the username received in the ticket after ordering the service.
