Connect to a FortiGate firewall

The settings in this guide are current for FortiOS versions 6.x and 7.x. If you have a different version of FortiOS, you can find the documentation for it in the top-right corner of the FortiGate control panel or on the official FortiGate website.

Graphical interface

1. Open the following page in your browser:

   https://<ip_address>

   Specify <ip_address> — the firewall IP address that you received in the ticket after ordering the service.

2. Log in with your administrator username and password. If you are logging in for the first time, use the username and password you received in the ticket after ordering the service.

CLI

1. Open the CLI.

2. Connect to the firewall via SSH:

   ssh <username>@<ip_address>

   Specify:

   • <username> — the administrator username. If you are logging in for the first time, use the username you received in the ticket after ordering the service;
   • <ip_address> — the firewall IP address that you received in the ticket after ordering the service.

3. Enter the administrator password. If you are logging in for the first time, use the password you received in the ticket after ordering the service.
