Payment model and pricing for hardware firewalls

Balance

Depending on the type of balances in the account, a unified balance or main balance is used for payment.

You can pay for a firewall with different types of funds: basic funds and compensation bonuses from Selectel.

Payment model

When ordering a hardware firewall, a tariff plan is set that determines the duration of the paid period and the payment amount. The payment day is set to the day the firewall is delivered, which also marks the start of the first paid period.

You can view the payment day, payment amount, and the duration of the paid period in the control panel: in the top menu, click Products → Servers and Equipment → Firewalls → a firewall page → the Services tab. You can change the tariff plan and payment day.

When the paid period ends, the firewall is automatically renewed for the same period.

Payment is deducted as a one-time fee for the entire period. When paying, bonus funds are deducted first, followed by primary funds. The amount deducted for each fund type is a multiple of the daily cost of the firewall.

For example, a firewall costs 54 000 ₽/month; the cost per day is 1 800 ₽. Suppose you have 60 000 ₽ in primary funds and 4 000 ₽ in bonuses. When the service is renewed, 3 600 ₽ will be deducted from your bonuses first, and then 50 400 ₽ from your primary funds.

If you no longer need the firewall, cancel it. When canceling the service, you can request a refund for any full unused months; to do this, create a ticket.

Change billing option and payment day

In the control panel, on the top menu, click Products and select Dedicated Servers.
Go to the Firewalls section.
In the firewall menu, select Change tariff plan and payment day. By default, the payment day is the day the firewall is delivered. If the firewall was ordered on the 1st and delivered on the 3rd, the payment day will be the 3rd.
Select a new billing option.
Optional: enter a new payment day.
Click Save changes. The current payment day will not change. The payment day will change only in the next period.

Resource blocking if there are insufficient funds on the balance

If there are insufficient funds on the balance at the moment of debiting for full payment, the firewall will be extended and continue to be charged daily.

After four days, access to the local network and the internet for the firewall is blocked, and the protected infrastructure behind the firewall becomes inaccessible from the internet. After 10 days, the service is deleted and cannot be recovered.

Holidays and weekends are not included in the calculation.

If there are insufficient funds in your balance to cover the daily fee, the firewall will be charged on credit. The debt does not expire after the firewall is deleted.

For example, the next payment for your firewall costing 54 000 ₽/month is July 11, 2023. If there are not enough funds in your account, the daily cost of the firewall will be calculated and deducted at renewal — 54 000 ₽ ÷ 31 days = 1 732 ₽. You will be charged daily until enough funds are added to your balance to cover the full payment (minus the days already paid for). If no payment is received, access to the local network and the internet for the firewall will be blocked after four days. After 10 days, the firewall will be deleted with no possibility of recovery.

If payments take a long time to process or you are unable to top up your balance, legal entities can request a balance top-up deferment for up to five days.
