Payment model and pricing for hardware firewalls

Balance

Depending on the balance type in your account, payment is made from the unified balance or main balance.

You can pay for the firewall using different types of funds: main funds and compensation bonuses from Selectel.

Payment model

When ordering a hardware firewall, a billing plan is set, which determines the duration of the paid period and the payment amount. The billing day is set to the day the firewall is delivered, and the first paid period begins at the same time.

You can view the billing day, payment amount, and paid period duration in the control panel: in the top menu, click Products → Servers and Hardware → Firewalls → firewall page → Services tab. You can change the billing plan and billing day.

When the paid period ends, the firewall is automatically renewed for the same period.

Payment is deducted as a one-time charge for the entire period. When paying, bonuses are deducted first, followed by main funds. The amount deducted for one type of fund is a multiple of the daily cost of the firewall.

For example, a firewall costs 54 000 ₽/month, one day costs 1 800 ₽. Suppose you have 60 000 ₽ in main funds, and 4 000 ₽ in bonuses. Then, when renewing the service, 3 600 ₽ will be deducted from bonuses first, and then 50 400 ₽ from main funds.

If you no longer need the firewall, cancel it. When canceling the service, you can get a refund for full unused months; to do this, create a ticket.

Change billing option and payment day

In the control panel, in the top menu, click Products and select Dedicated Servers.
Go to the Firewalls section.
From the firewall menu, select Change billing plan and billing day. By default, the billing day is the day the firewall is delivered. If the firewall was ordered on the 1st and delivered on the 3rd, the billing day will be the 3rd.
Select a new billing option.
Optional: enter a new payment day.
Click Save changes. The upcoming billing day will not change. The billing day will only change in the next period.

Resource blocking if there are insufficient funds on the balance

If there are insufficient funds on the balance at the moment of debiting for full payment, the firewall will be extended and continue to be charged daily.

After four days, access to the local network and the internet is blocked for the firewall, and the infrastructure protected by the firewall becomes inaccessible from the internet. After 10 days, the service is deleted without the possibility of recovery.

Holidays and weekends are not included in the calculation.

If there are insufficient funds in your balance to cover the daily cost, the firewall will be charged on credit. The debt is not cleared after the firewall is deleted.

For example, the next payment for your firewall costing 54 000 ₽/month is July 11, 2023. If there are insufficient funds in your account, the daily cost of the server will be calculated and deducted upon renewal — 54 000 ₽ ÷ 31 days = 1 732 ₽. Payment will be deducted daily until a sufficient amount for a full deduction is added to the balance (minus already paid days). If payment is not received, firewall access to the local network and internet will be blocked after four days. After 10 days, the firewall will be deleted without the possibility of recovery.

If the transfer takes a long time or you are unable to top up your balance, legal entities can request a deferred balance top-up for up to five days.
