# Stop lists

A stop list is a list of email addresses that are excluded from the recipient list when sending a mailing.

There are two types of stop lists in the mail service:

* local — a stop list for your domain. It includes addresses that returned a `5 **` error when sending a mailing from your domain, or from which an unsubscribe request or spam complaint was received;
* global — a general service stop list. It includes all addresses that have ever returned a `5 **` error when sending mailings through the service. It also includes the [Mailvalidator](https://mailvalidator.ru/) service database — spam traps, invalid addresses, and addresses with frequent spam complaints.

If an address is found in a stop list, the email will not be sent to it, and the SMTP dialog will return a [550 bounced check filter](/email-service/smtp-errors.mdx) `error`. If an email has multiple recipients and at least one of the addresses is found in a stop list, the email will not be sent to anyone; sending must be retried separately for each recipient.

Stop lists cannot be disabled, nor can the list of addresses in them be viewed. You can [find and remove a specific email address](#find-and-remove-email-from-local-stoplist) from the local stop list. Addresses cannot be removed from the global stop list.

### Find and remove an email address from the local stop list \{#find-and-remove-email-from-local-stoplist}

1. In the [Control panel](https://my.selectel.ru/ses/), on the top menu, click **Products** and select **Email Service**.

2. Open the resource page → **Stop Lists** tab.

3. In the **Recipient address** field, enter the email address to which you are unable to send mailings.

4. Click **Search stop lists**.

5. Optional: if the address is in the stop list and you believe it was added by mistake, remove it from the stop list. To do this, select the address and click **Remove address**.

   If the address is not found in the stop list but mailings are not being delivered to it, [create a ticket](https://my.selectel.ru/tickets/create/). In the ticket, specify the domain from which you are trying to send the email to this address.
