Connect disaster recovery via Veeam Cloud Connect Replication
You can connect disaster recovery to the Selectel cloud from your On-Premises infrastructure.
To connect disaster recovery via Veeam Cloud Connect Replication, you must have Veeam Backup & Replication™ version 12.3.2.3617 or higher, or Veeam Availability Suite, deployed.
- Create a virtual data center.
- Order the disaster recovery connection via Veeam Cloud Connect Replication.
- Connect Veeam Backup & Replication to Veeam Cloud Connect in Selectel.
- Create a replication job.
1. Create a virtual data center
Use the instructions Create a virtual data center.
2. Order a disaster recovery connection
- In the control panel, on the top menu, click Products and select VMware-based Cloud.
- Go to the DRaaS section.
- Select the virtual data center for which you will configure disaster recovery.
- Specify the number of virtual machines to replicate.
- Click Order.
- We will create a ticket and send you the connection details.
3. Connect Veeam Backup & Replication to Veeam Cloud Connect in Selectel
Use the instructions Connect Veeam Cloud Connect.
4. Create a replication job
For more information on configuring replication jobs, see the Creating Replication Jobs section of the Veeam documentation.

In the Veeam Backup & Replication panel, go to the HOME section.

Click Replication Job → Virtual machine.

At the Job step:
3.1. In the Name field, enter the job name.
3.2. Optional: in the Description field, add a job description.
3.3. Optional: if this virtual machine is already in the Veeam Cloud Connect cloud and you want to reduce traffic and speed up replication, select the Replica seeding checkbox.
3.4. Optional: to enable network remapping and reduce the RPO, select the Network remapping checkbox.
3.5. If the IP addressing in your cloud differs from that in the Selectel cloud, select the Replica re-IP checkbox.
3.6. Click Next.

At the Virtual machines step:
4.1. Click Add.
4.2. Add the virtual machine for which you will connect disaster recovery.
4.3. Click Next.

At the Destination step:
5.1. In the Host or cluster field, click Choose.
5.2. Select Cloud host.
5.3. Select the Selectel provider's virtual data center.
5.4. Optional: change the vApp and storage policy.
5.5. Click Next.

If you selected the Network remapping checkbox at the Name step, at the Network step:
6.1. Click Add.
6.2. In the Source network field, click Browse.
6.3. Select the networks in your infrastructure that will be mapped to networks in the Selectel cloud.
6.4. Click OK → OK → Next.

If you selected the Replica re-IP checkbox at the Name step, at the Re-IP step:
7.1. Configure the addressing rules.
7.2. Click Next.

At the Job Settings step:
8.1. In the Replica name suffix field, specify a prefix for the virtual machine replica name.
8.2. In the Restore points to keep field, specify the number of copies.
8.3. Click Next.

At the Data Transfer step:
9.1. Configure the proxy or leave the default proxy.
9.2. Click Next.

If you selected the Replica seeding checkbox at the Name step, at the Seeding step, configure acceleration for initial replication for existing virtual machines.

At the Guest Processing step:
11.1. Optional: to create consistent replicas of running virtual machines and protect guest OS applications, select the Enable application-aware processing checkbox; for more information, see Application-Aware Processing in the Veeam documentation.
11.2. Click Next.

At the Schedule step:
12.1. Optional: to automatically run replication on a schedule, select the Run the job automatically checkbox and set the replication frequency.
12.2. Click Apply.

At the Summary step:
13.1. Check the job settings.
13.2. Optional: to start replication automatically after the job is created, select the Run the job when I click Finish checkbox.
13.3. Click Finish. The job will appear in the HOME → Jobs → Replications.
