Register domain

A domain in .ru and .рф zones is registered for one year; at the end of the registration period, the domain must be renewed. Auto-renewal is enabled for the domain by default: if there are sufficient funds on the balance, the fee for the next year is charged 60 days before the registration period ends. You can disable auto-renewal and renew the domain manually.

A domain can be registered to an individual, including a sole proprietor, or to a legal entity.

In the control panel, on the top menu, click Products and select Domains.
Ensure you are in the correct project.
Click Register Domain.
Enter a keyword to search for a domain — in Latin characters for searching in the .ru zone, in Cyrillic for searching in the .рф.
Click Check Availability.

Suitable domains will appear in the search results. If a domain can be registered, the domain card will be marked as AVAILABLE. If the domain is taken, you can view the contact information for its administrator; for more details, see the guide Check a domain via Whois.
To start the domain registration, click Checkout in the domain card. Until you finish the checkout and pay for the domain, it remains available for registration to other clients.
If you have already entered administrator details for another domain, click Select Administrator, choose an administrator from the list, and proceed to step 11. If the administrator selection is unavailable, check and update the administrator details.
If you need to enter the details of a new administrator, click New Administrator.
Select the administrator type — Individual / Sole Proprietor.
Enter the administrator details:

10.1. Enter contact details: country of citizenship, phone number, email.

10.2. Enter personal data:
- for individuals: full name and date of birth;
- for individual entrepreneurs: full name, date of birth, INN.
10.3. Select the type of identity document:
- for residents of the Russian Federation: national passport, international passport, or military service card;
- for non-residents of the Russian Federation: national passport or ID card.
10.4. Enter the identity document details:
- for a national passport: series, number, date of issue, department code, and issuing authority;
- for an international passport: series, number, date of issue, expiration date, and issuing authority;
- for a military service card: number, date of issue, and issuing authority;
- for an ID card: number, date of issue, expiration date, and issuing authority.
10.5. Enter the registration address: postal code, region or province, city or town, district, street, building, structure, block, and apartment number.
Select the checkbox I agree to the processing of my personal data in accordance with the Policy.
Check the final domain price.
Click **Register domain for **. It will appear in the Domains section.

Once domain registration is complete, the domain status will change to ACTIVE. You will receive a notification via the domain administrator email entered in step 10.1.
Management of domain resource records is automatically delegated to Selectel DNS Hosting. If you want to use Selectel DNS Hosting, create a zone and add resource records. If you want to manage domain resource records via another hosting provider — delegate the domain.
