# Renew domain

Auto-renewal is enabled by default for each [registered domain](/domains/register-domain.mdx). A domain in `.ru` and `.рф` zones is registered for one year and is renewed at the end of the [registration period](/domains/about-domains.mdx#domain-life-stages). The fee for the next year is charged automatically 60 days before the end of the registration period. To do this, you must have sufficient funds in your balance.

You can [disable auto-renewal](#disable-payment) and [renew the domain manually](#renew-domain-manually). We will remind you that the domain needs to be renewed by sending an email to the domain administrator:

* 60 days before the end of the registration period;
* 30 days before the end of the registration period;
* on the day the registration period ends;
* 10 days after the end of the registration period;
* 25 days after the end of the registration period.

If you have disabled auto-renewal, you can [enable it](#enable-payment) at any time.

If there are insufficient funds on your balance, the domain enters the [status](/domains/manage/check-domain-status.mdx) `FAILED PAYMENT`. You can [renew the domain manually](#renew-domain-manually) while the [registration period and the redemption period](/domains/about-domains.mdx#domain-life-stages) are active. At the end of the redemption period, the administrator data will be cleared, and the domain name will no longer point to the associated IP addresses. The domain will be removed from the control panel.

1. In the [control panel](https://my.selectel.ru/dns/default/registrar), on the top menu, click **Products** and select **Domains**.

2. In the domain row, in the **Auto-renewal** column, toggle the switch.

## Renew a domain manually \{#renew-domain-manually}

1. In the [control panel](https://my.selectel.ru/dns/default/registrar), on the top menu, click **Products** and select **Domains**.

2. In the domain <MoreVerticalIcon /> menu, select **Renew**.

3. Click **Renew**.

4. Optional: to have the domain fee charged automatically, [enable auto-renewal](#enable-payment).
