# Protect the zone against deletion

If you [enable protection against deletion](#enable-protection-from-deletion) for a zone, it cannot be deleted until you [remove the protection](#disable-protection-from-deletion).

When protection is enabled, you can manage zone resource records without restrictions — [add](/dns-hosting/records/add-record.mdx), [edit](/dns-hosting/records/edit-record.mdx), and [delete records](/dns-hosting/records/delete-record.mdx).

## Enable protection against deletion \{#enable-protection-from-deletion}

1. In the [Control panel](https://my.selectel.ru/dns/default/hosting/), on the top menu, click **Products** and select **DNS hosting**.
2. In the <MoreVerticalIcon /> zone menu, select **Protect zone from deletion**.
3. Click **Protect**.

## Remove protection against deletion \{#disable-protection-from-deletion}

1. In the [Control panel](https://my.selectel.ru/dns/default/hosting/), on the top menu, click **Products** and select **DNS hosting**.
2. In the <MoreVerticalIcon /> zone menu, select **Remove protection from deletion**.
3. Click **Remove protection**.
