Connect Direct Connect — logical port

RETN, MSK-IX

1. Ensure you have created and configured a private network via a global router.

2. Lease a communication channel from a partner provider — RETN, MSK-IX.

3. In the control panel, on the top menu, click Products and select Direct Connect.

4. Open the Logical Port tab.

5. Click Order Services.

6. Select a provider — RETN, MSK-IX.

7. Optional: enter the connection point information on the provider side — rack number, equipment ID, port number, connector type, transceiver type. You must request this data from the provider yourself. If you have not yet started coordinating the connection with the provider, leave the field empty.

8. Optional: enter the VLAN ID on the provider side. You must request this data from the provider yourself. If you have not yet started coordinating the connection with the provider, leave the field empty.

9. Select the channel bandwidth — 1 or 10 Gbps.

10. Specify additional information about the connection:

    • Router ID that you used to organize the network in step 1. You can find the ID in the control panel: on the top menu, click Products → Global Router → router page;
    • private subnet of size at least /29 to be used for connecting the provider to your global router. The subnet must not overlap with other private networks on the selected router.

11. Click Order. A ticket with the service order will be created automatically.

12. Wait for a response from a Selectel employee in this ticket. They will clarify the details if necessary and provide detailed instructions on organizing the connection. The maximum lead time for connection organization by Selectel is up to three business days.

Yandex Cloud

Yandex Cloud does not support /29 sized networks. This means you cannot configure global router redundancy (VRRP). Yandex will be able to establish a BGP session with only one of the Selectel global routers. If the router fails or requires maintenance, the communication channel will be unavailable until service is restored.

1. Ensure you have created and configured a private network via a global router.

2. Lease a communication channel from Yandex Cloud following the instructions in Creating a new trunk connection via a partner in the Yandex Cloud documentation.

3. Go to the Selectel control panel: on the top menu, click Products and select Direct Connect.

4. Open the Logical Port tab.

5. Click Order Services.

6. Select a provider — Yandex.

7. Leave the Connection point and VLAN ID fields empty.

8. Select the channel bandwidth — 1 Gbps.

9. In the Additional information field, specify the ID of the global router you created in step 1. You can find the ID in the control panel: on the top menu, click Products → Global Router → router page.

10. Click Order. A ticket with the service order will be created automatically.

11. Wait for a response from a Selectel employee.

12. Send a request to Yandex Cloud to organize a new private connection following the Organizing a private connection instructions in the Yandex Cloud documentation. In your request, specify the Selectel ASN: peer_bgp_asn: 64530.

13. Wait for confirmation from a Yandex Cloud employee that the new private connection has been organized.

14. Go to the ticket that was created in step 10. In the ticket:

    • state that a Yandex Cloud employee has confirmed the connection;
    • attach a copy of your request to Yandex Cloud that you sent in step 12.

15. Wait for a response from a Selectel employee confirming that the connection has been organized. The maximum lead time for connection organization by Selectel is up to three business days.
