Dedicated server backup

Selectel dedicated servers provide the capability to create and store backups (backups). The backup service allows you to improve infrastructure reliability and protect against permanent data loss.

The following solutions are available for creating and storing backups:

  • Veeam agent — backups are performed by a Veeam Agent running on the server. Data can be uploaded to the Veeam® Cloud Connect cloud repository or to a separate server disk;
  • automated backup to S3 — backups are created using software that supports FTP, OpenStack Swift, or Amazon S3-compatible API. The software regularly archives and transfers data to Selectel S3;
  • backup to file storage — file storage is connected via NFS or CIFS protocols to one or more instances (servers or virtual machines) that can work with it concurrently. It uses three-way disk volume replication, which ensures high data durability. For servers in the Chipcore Line, this solution is not available;
  • Cyber Backup Cloud – backups are performed using a solution from Cyberprotect. An agent is installed on the server and performs data protection and backup.
