# Restore from backup

* from [bootable media](#restore-via-bootable-media) (Bootable Media) — if the OS is inoperable;
* via the [Cyber Backup panel](#restore-via-cyber-backup-panel) — if the OS is operational and there is internet access.

## Restore from bootable media \{#restore-via-bootable-media}

If the OS does not boot, you can restore a backup from bootable media—a system image with drivers. You can create it in advance or download a ready-made ISO file; see more in the [Creating bootable media](https://docs.cyberprotect.ru/ru-RU/CyberBackupCloud/26.03/user/#creating-bootable-media.html) section of the Cyber Backup Cloud documentation.

1. If you do not have a previously created bootable medium, [download the ready-made ISO file](#download-iso-file).
2. Optional: [generate a registration token](#generate-registration-token).
3. [Restore from backup](#restore-from-backup).

### 1. Optional: download the ready-made ISO file \{#download-iso-file}

If you already have a previously created bootable medium, you do not need to download the ready-made ISO file.

1. In the [Cyber Backup panel](https://ru01-cloud.cyberprotect.ru), go to **Devices** → **All devices**.
2. Select a machine.
3. Click **Recover** → **Other recovery ways** → **Download ISO image**.

### 2. Optional: generate a registration token \{#generate-registration-token}

With a registration token, you can access the backup storage without entering a username and password. To generate a registration token, follow the [Managing registration tokens](https://docs.cyberprotect.ru/ru-RU/CyberBackupCloud/26.03/user/#managing-registration-tokens.html) section of the Cyber Backup Cloud documentation.

### 3. Restore from backup \{#restore-from-backup}

1. Mount the image to the machine.
2. Boot the machine using the bootable medium. Bootable Backup Agent will open.
3. Click **Recovery**.
4. Load the image.
5. Click **Configure network settings**.
6. Configure the network settings so that the machine has internet access.
7. Click **OK**.
8. Click **Manage this machine locally** → **Recover**.
9. Click **Select data** → **Browse** → **Cloud storage** → **Sign in**.
10. Enter your account credentials used to sign in to the Cyber Backup panel and click **OK**.
11. Select the machine, the recovery point, and mark the data to be recovered (logical volumes, physical disks, or files).
12. Check the parameters.
13. Click **Recover Disk 1**, where **Disk 1** is the name of the data to be recovered.
14. Specify the disk or volume to which the backup will be recovered.
15. Click **OK**. You can track the recovery progress on the **Recovery progress** tab.

## Restore via the Cyber Backup panel \{#restore-via-cyber-backup-panel}

Through the Cyber Backup control panel, you can restore an entire machine or individual files and folders; see more in the [Recovery: cheat sheet](https://docs.cyberprotect.ru/ru-RU/CyberBackupCloud/26.03/user/#recovery-cheat-sheet.html) section of the Cyber Backup Cloud documentation.
