Connect Cyber Backup

1. Order services.
2. Download the agent.
3. Install the agent.
4. Create a protection plan.

1. Order services

Initial order

1. In the control panel, in the top menu, click Products and select Cyber Backup Cloud.

2. Click Enable.

3. Select a service:

   • if you plan to use a large number of backup agents, select the Cyber Backup Cloud (Repository) Copy Storage service in the required region – agent licenses will be unlimited, repository space will be charged;
   • if the number of agents is small, select the Cyber Backup Cloud (Devices) service for the required device — each license and storage capacity will be charged. The storage price will be lower than for Cyber Backup Cloud (Repository).

4. If you selected the Cyber Backup Cloud (Repository) Copy Storage service, specify the storage capacity.

5. If you selected the Cyber Backup Cloud (Devices) service for the required device:

   5.1. Specify the number of licenses.

   5.2. Select a region for storing backups.

   5.3. Specify the storage volume.

6. Click Order. We will activate the service and send the connection details in a ticket.

Repeat order

1. In the control panel, in the top menu, click Products and select Cyber Backup Cloud.

2. Click Enable services.

3. Select a service:

   • if you plan to use a large number of backup agents, select the Cyber Backup Cloud (Repository) Copy Storage service in the required region – agent licenses will be unlimited, repository space will be charged;
   • if the number of agents is small, select the Cyber Backup Cloud (Devices) service for the required device — each license will be charged;
   • if you are already using the Cyber Backup Cloud (Devices) service for the required device and want to purchase additional repository space, select the Cyber Backup Cloud (Devices) Copy Storage service in the required region — repository space will be charged. The storage price will be lower than for Cyber Backup Cloud (Repository).

4. If you selected the Cyber Backup Cloud (Repository) Copy Storage or Cyber Backup Cloud (Devices) Copy Storage service, specify the storage capacity.

5. If you selected the Cyber Backup Cloud (Devices) service for the required device, specify the number of licenses.

6. Click Order. We will activate the service and send the connection details in a ticket.

2. Download agent

1. Log in to the Cyber Backup panel using the details sent in the ticket.
2. Go to the Devices section.
3. Click + Add.
4. Select the device type. If you want to protect an Active Directory, MS SQL, or MS Exchange server, select the device in the Applications block, not Windows OS.
5. Wait for the agent installation file to download to the device.
6. If you downloaded the installation file to the wrong device, move the file to the required device.

3. Install agent

Windows

1. Run the installation file on the machine you want to back up.

2. Click Install. Wait for the agent to install.

3. Click Register machine. You will be redirected to the Cyber Backup panel. The registration code will be inserted automatically. You can view the registration code later using the command:

   %ProgramFiles%\BackupClient\RegisterAgentTool\register_agent.exe -o register -t cloud –a https://ru01-cloud.cyberprotect.ru -u <username> -p <password>

   Specify <username> and <password> — Cyber Backup panel credentials.

4. In the Sign up for an account field, select an account.

5. Select your account and click Check code → Confirm registration.

6. Optional: if you closed the agent, you can add the code manually in the Devices → Add section → the Registration by code block → Register.

Linux

1. In the Cyber Backup panel, go to the Devices section and click Add.

2. In the Registration token block, click Create → Generate Token. The token will appear in the Generated token field.

3. Copy the registration token.

4. Add execution permissions to the installer file:

   sudo chmod +x <agent_file>

   Specify <agent_file> — the installer file name.

5. Start the installation:

   sudo <agent_file>

   Specify <agent_file> — the installer file name.

6. Select Agent for Linux and confirm the installation of missing packages. For more information about the required packages, see the Linux packages instructions in the Cyber Backup Cloud documentation.

   Within a few minutes, the machine will appear on the Devices tab.

4. Create a protection plan

1. In the Cyber Backup panel, go to Devices → All devices.
2. Select the machines for which you want to create a protection plan.
3. Click Protect → Create plan.
4. Optional: change the plan name.
5. Configure the protection and backup plan parameters; for details, see the Protection plan cheat sheet instructions in the Cyber Backup Cloud documentation.
6. If you need to protect an Active Directory, MS SQL, or MS Exchange server, click Application backup, turn on the toggle switch, and click OK.
7. Click Create. The actual start of the protection plan may occur with a delay of up to 30 minutes due to load balancing.
