Download the cloud server in Rescue and Diagnostic mode
Use Rescue mode to restore Linux-based servers. It is recommended to restore Windows servers from an ISO image.
If the cloud server does not boot or you cannot connect to it, boot it in Rescue recovery and diagnostic mode. After booting, you can access the server file system, run diagnostics, and restore the operating system.
In Rescue mode, pre-installed utilities are available for system diagnostics and recovery — see the list of utilities.
- Boot the cloud server into Rescue recovery and diagnostic mode.
- Connect to the server.
- When the server recovery and diagnostics are complete, exit Rescue mode.
1. Load the server into Rescue
- In the Control panel, on the top menu, click Products and select Cloud Servers.
- Open the Servers tab.
- From the server's menu, select Rescue Mode.
- Click Upload to Rescue. The server will go to
RESCUE
status.
2. Connect to the server
You can connect to the cloud server in Rescue mode:
- SSH — for servers with Linux operating system;
- RDP — for servers with Windows operating system;
- through the console in the control panel — for servers with any operating system.
In order to connect to a cloud server via SSH or RDP, it must have access to the Internet:
3. Exit Rescue mode
- In the Control panel, on the top menu, click Products and select Cloud Servers.
- Open the Servers tab.
- From the server's menu, select Exit Rescue.
